I am not seeing the 4 10 gig interfaces on my 2930M switch. Do i have to activate something to get these interfaces to show up?

What's the part number of the module you have installed?

    Hi Scott,

This is a 1U unit. The interfaces are interfaces that are on the front of the unit and are integrated into the unit. There is not module that is replacable.

    Hi,

from the Quickspecs... your Switch(JL320A) doesn't have 10G.

But there are Modules you can add at the back of the Switch:

    Aruba 2930M Switch Series accessories
    Modules
    Aruba 2930 2-port Stacking Module JL325A
    Aruba 3810M/2930M 1-port QSFP+ 40GbE Module JL078A
    Aruba 3810M/2930M 4-port 100M/1G/10G SFP+ MACsec Module JL083A
    Aruba 3810M 4 HPE Smart Rate PoE+ Module JL081A

    Hi,

21 to 24 are dual personality, if there is a SFP it shows up in the "sh int brief", as in your output.

But this SFPs must be supported to give you more information and 10G isn't supported, as these are only SFP and not SFP+ Ports!

    This SFPs are supported:

HPE X111 100M SFP LC FX Transceiver J9054C
HPE X121 1G SFP LC SX Transceiver J4858C
HPE X121 1G SFP LC LX Transceiver J4859C
HPE X121 1G SFP LC LH Transceiver J4860C
    HPE X121 1G SFP RJ45 T Transceiver J8177C
    HPE X122 1G SFP LC BX-D Transceiver J9142B
    HPE X122 1G SFP LC BX-U Transceiver J9143B

This is not a solution. I'm using the HPE X121 1G SFP LC SX Transceiver J4858C Module and it's not showing up with show module or sh int brief commands. Please offer a genuine fix for this.

There is not a fix because there is not a problem.

If you have a SFP (or SFP+ if supported by the Switch) Transceiver, check its status with this command:

    show tech transceivers

The above mentioned command (show interface brief) only show status and counters related informations of physical interfaces (so Interface number 21, 22, 23 and 24 T for Copper, S for SFP are listed as usual).

    Greetings!

Just for clarification, since I've seen the command mentioned a couple of times in this thread: show modules is intended to display the status of uplink and stacking modules, both of which are supported by the 2930M series; if you're trying to get transceiver status, the command show interfaces transceiver (or show tech transceiver) would be the correct command to use.
