Option 82 Implementation

    Hi,

     

    I am going to deploy option 82 in our network for the purpose to trace the Access Point to which the user want to connect.

     

    In our network we have 2 SSIDs. For one SSID my company want to enable option 82.

     

    The scenario is; when any user try to connect to the SSID from any where to any AP and the User request DHCP for IPs, in the DHCP request the user send the AP name to which he is going to associate. When we enable Option 82 under the VLAN for that SSID, we have option MAC and MAC-ESSID. Please clarify to me can i do this job using Option-82.

    You can turn on Option 82 under the VLAN interface on the controller.  Have you ever implemented Option 82 before?
