PPPoE ISP Dialer, no CHAP? 7010 VLAN Interface

I'm trying to create the Cisco equiv of a Dialer or sub.iface for a pppoe connection that requires CHAP negotiation but am seemingly stuck at the moment.

I've created the vlan and its associated iface, however, the only options I get under `conf t -> int vlan 10 -> ip pppoe-<argument>` are PAP user/pass/and SN arguments.  Is it not possible to terminate an ISP pppoe connection that requires CHAP directly to a port on the 7010?

I currently have a 6.4.4.16 and an 8.1.0.4 image available to play with while I sort licenses for personal use.  As such, this is far from a production environment - more so, my first toe in the Aruba waters.

Thx!

EDIT: Apologies if this is in the wrong forum or category.  I wasn't sure where such a 1990's type question would best fit.  If someone wants/needs to move this, feel free.

Just rechecked the manuals. Chap secret is only available if you run the SD-WAN image on the controller. the command is not available if you run the WLAN image. Currently, I do not have a controller in my hands to check if it is just missing in the documentation or if it isn't there.

Maybe I can check tomorrow.

Hi _Sean_

I'm currently running my controller in the SD-WAN mode with 8.5. And there is an option for CHAP. As both of your versions are very old, I would recommend going to either for 6.5.x (Latest) or 8.5.x (latest) and recheck if CHAP is there.

Re: PPPoE ISP Dialer, no CHAP? 7010 VLAN Interface

Thanks, hopefully, that's all it is.  It will probably be a few weeks before I sort licenses and can join in on all the fun.  In the interim, this is all I get from cli options --

(roger) [mynode] (config-submode)#ip
access-group Apply access-list to interface
address Set the IP address of an interface
helper-address Configure DHCP server relay agent
igmp Enable/Disable IGMP
local-proxy-arp Enable local-proxy ARP
nat Network Address Translation.
ospf OSPF interface commands
pppoe-max-segment-size TCP Max Segment Size in bytes
pppoe-password The PAP password configured on the PPPoE Access
Concentrator for the switch
pppoe-service-name The PPPoE service name
pppoe-username The PAP username configured on the PPPoE Access
Concentrator for the switch
routing Toggle vlan interface routing state

(roger) [mynode] (config-submode)#

Will leave open in the interim in case anyone else has anything to offer.
