I'm not aware of any command to reset an interface to the default configuration. I always go into the interface level and either no <CMD> or set value to default.

    Hi Dobias,

Same here.  A 'default this' command from Comware could and would be nice.

But with ClearPass (colorless ports) and automation the time of old school CLI config is slowly 'dying'.

    Hi,

There is no command in Aruba or Provision OS switches to set the port to default settings.

The best way to check the configuration on a particular port and delete it would be "show running-config interface X".

It will give the detail configuration about that port.

Then you can remove desired configuration by enter "no" before any command you dont want.

But these "no" commands needs to be run inside the interface context.

I hope this information is helpful.

I came acrros this: these these on comware7:

If you issue on an interface (like "interface Ten-GigabitEthernet 1/1/20")  the command "default"  you will get:

This command will restore the default settings. Continue? [Y/N]:

    Hi
Keep in mind your VLAN configuration on the 5400 does not show up under the interface config.
show vlan ports XX detail to get tagged and untagget VLAN on the port.

    This trick may help:
    1. create a trunk with just the port in question "trunk nn trk99"
    2. delete the trunk "no trk99"
    3. this will clear most settings and put the port back to close to default.
You will need to check with "show run int nn" - there were some more obscure items that did not get reset with this method.
