Does Aruba 2930F supports this DAC cables?

    https://www.miljet.net/produto/mj-sfp-h10gb-cu3m/

I have connected in my switch but they were not working. They are shown in 'show tech transceiver' but they are marked as unsupported (or SFP_UNKNOWN).

Then I ran 'allow-unsupported-transceiver'. Still I have got no link from the transceiver. Trying a supported transceiver worked fine.

Is there any other command that would work. Maybe a firmware update?

    Thanks.

Hi! first thing first: The one we are referring about is an unsupported feature...it does not imply “support” for a non-certified transceiver...so you can't really expect that allowing something unsupported shall make any Transceiver to work. There is no guarantee.

Documantation (https://community.arubanetworks.com/aruba/attachments/aruba/CampusSwitching/3089/1/ARUBAOS-SWITCH%25252520UNSUPPORTED%25252520TRANSCEIVER%25252520GUIDE%25252520V2.pdf) says so (it could have been written better).

Unfortunately even after restart the transceiver still show as not supported.

Does 2930F supports copper transceivers? I do believe so because of https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c05235854

But this https://community.arubanetworks.com/t5/Wired-Intelligent-Edge-Campus/How-to-display-detailed-interface-transceiver-information-on/ta-p/180614 mentions some restrictions.

The Aruba 2930F Switch series supports only the J8177D as "Copper RJ45" Transceiver.

As reference have a look at ArubaOS-Switch and ArubaOS-CX Transceiver Guide (January 2019, 6th Edition) through which you should learn what transceiver is supported where.

Clearly refer to Aruba 2930F QuickSpecs to see what transceivers are supported on that particular series.
