Switch factory reset from Boot Rom mode

Problem:

Case# 5332889104 

Subject: Aruba 2930F 24G PoE+ 4SFP Switch - Unable to access Switch / Unable to factory reset with reset clear button.



Diagnostics:

Switch was non-accessible as it was password protected. 
Performed factory reset on switch from boot menu.
Upgraded the firmware on switch.
Aruba Central engineer added the SW to Aruba central.

 

Enter the below command to delete the manager password file. =>rm /cfa0/mgrinfo.txt rm - Remove file - mgrinfo.txt After removing file, you can run the List command to verify the deletion of the file. =>ls /cfa0 Rebooting the switch will erase the manager Password. =>boot  



Solution
  • Aruba 2930F 24G PoE+ 4SFP Switch - Unable to access Switch.
  • Customer was adding the switch to Aruba central but was unable to add.
  • Central engineer was on call <Ref case# 5332886852 >.
  • Switch was non-accessible as it was password protected. 
  • Performed factory reset on switch from boot menu.
  • Upgraded the firmware on switch.
  • Central engineer added the SW to Aruba central.
  • Customer wanted to take backup of config.
  • Copied config backup for the switch.
  • Issue resolved.
