Does anybody know how many VRFs can be created and used simultaneously in an Aruba 8400 and 8320 for the last version of firmware AOS-CX v10.01?

    Regards

    Hi Vincent,
I was given access to the Atmosphere 2018 presentations and in one of them (Anatomy of the Aruba 8400 and 8320 with ArubaOS-CX" by Scott Koster) I found the same slide with a big star that says "coming soon".
Wich presentation is more recent: EMEA Webinar or Atmosphere?, I am a bit confused, is 32 VRF-Lite instances an available feature for this AOS-CX version or is a future one?
    Regards

    Hi Vincent.
    I have one more question.
As far as I have seen, VRF and VRF-Lite are two different features:
    https://ipwithease.com/vrf-vs-vrf-lite/
What I have asked is about VRF (not VRF-Lite). Can you confirm me that Aruba 8400 and 8320 implement the complete VRF feature?
    Regards

    Hello,

I will not comment on the accuracy of using VRF word in the blog you refer to, instead of less confusing wording like MPBGP/L3VPN. Bottomline for 10.1:

8320/8400 supports 32 VRFs, and does not support yet MPBGP/L3VPN.

When and which version will support MPBGP/L3VPN, please connect to the ATM speaker Scott Koster, who owns the software roadmap.

    Thanks.

    Hi Sebastien,

It's 65 for the 8320, 8325 and 8400 in release 10.3 (that includes the mgmt VRF).

    Kind regards,

    Hi Dik,

Thank you for the reply, do you know if in the next release it is going to up ?
In my case I would like to have new core with ArubaOS-CX but I need arount 200-300 VRF. Last Core was Nexus 7K.

    Kind regards,

    Sebastien,

    Hi Sebastien,

That's a lot of VRF's. Typically in large networks we don't see that many VRF's being deployed so your setup would be a special use case. There are no plans to go beyond 64 (+1).

    Kind regards,

    Dik

Hi Sebastien (and others looking for similar information)

The latest VRF number for 10.06 is 256.
L3 virtualization with VRF is not available for 6200 and 6100.

256 should accommodate most cases, else reach out to us.

    Hi Tom,
Where can we find documentation which mentions the VRF table size of 6400 Switch series

This gap is identified. For time being, this information should be in the presentation delivered to Aruba partners after the introduction of a release.

    Dinusha.

As Vincent writes you can reach out to your local Aruba partner or Aruba SE if you need information not described in out datasheet or available as public information.

If more than 256 VRF is needed for a hosting, MSP environment or something else, reach out to Aruba partner or Aruba as well.
