Q:
What is POE bounce and it is behavior:
POE bounce can be executed from Aruba Central for the switch to bounce the POE.
Navigation:
Login to the account -> Monitoring and reports -> Switches -> select the switch -> Tools -> Open Tools -> POE bounce
The above command will bounce the POE for the switch and below is the behavior,
I have connected the IAP-325 in the switch to port 6 of 2930F.
Logging into the switch, I executed the below command one by one immediately (which would have taken 3 seconds)
#Aruba-2930F-8G-PoEP-2SFPP(config)# interface 6 Aruba-2930F-8G-PoEP-2SFPP(eth-6)# no power-over-ethernet Aruba-2930F-8G-PoEP-2SFPP(eth-6)# power-over-ethernet
The IAP immediately rebooted, and it was a complete boot, disconnecting all the clients connected and clearing the ARP AND DATATPATH BRIDGE.
I 01/01/90 00:42:50 00076 ports: port 6 is now on-line I 01/01/90 00:42:47 05123 profile-manager: Device profile removed for Aruba AP a8bd27-cc9d28 on port 6. I 01/01/90 00:42:47 00077 ports: port 6 is now off-line
If you look at the timer of the log in the switch, total time is about 3 seconds.
The POE bounce command will turn off, then turn on POE switch ports in 3 seconds
