Is there something special about these controllers?  No matter what image or OS version I try to load, I get an error determining image version.

I am stuck with 4 AP-135s and a 651 Controller, the problem is that I need to upgrade from ArubaOS 6.0.1.0, I have tried ArubaOS_6xx_6.1.3.2_33796, ArubaOS_6xx_6.1.4.1_34255, ArubaOS_6xx_6.2.0.1_36614, ArubaOS_MAS_7.2.0.0_36526, ArubaOS_MMC_5.0.4.7_34135, ArubaOS_MMC_6.1.0.0_28106, ArubaOS_MMC_6.1.2.4_30768, ArubaOS_MMC_6.1.3.2_33796, and ArubaOS_MMC_6.2.1.0_37499 both via the web portal as well as FTP..nothing will work.

Do I need to do something special to upgrade this controller?  Am I using the wrong upgrade files?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

    - For the 600 series controllers you should only be downloading filenames that begin with ArubaOS_6xx_

    - After you download the file, you need to make sure it is not corrupted by computing the Md5 sum on the website:  Download the Aruba.md5 file and open it.  It should have the md5 sum for your files.  If you have linux or mac, Md5sum is built into the OS.  If you have Windows, download a Windows version of it (search google for Windows Md5sum) and calculate the md5 for the file you downloaded.  It should match the ArubaOS_6xx entry in the Aruba.md5 file you downloaded.

If that does not work, please open a support case.

i can't open a support ticket as they will not support the controller as it is end of life.  Do I have any other options?

Not true.  It is end of sale January 2013, but End of support in 2018.  http://www.arubanetworks.com/pdf/support/EOS_600_bundles.pdf

You should be able to open a support case.

I have tried to repeatedly.  I spoke with the Director of support and he informed me they are unable to provide me any support for this device as it is end of life.  This is compounded by the fact that my boss purchased it used off of ebay, so we provided Aruba Networks with the serial number and the only thing I was able to get is the license key it came with for the POE ports, other than that, nothing.

I don't have access to the downloads, so I cant upgrade the OS and was informed that I can't even buy a support contract for this device any longer.

    Well,

If I were you, I would save my license keys somewhere and attempt this:  https://arubanetworkskb.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/Troubleshooting/R-1181

Remember, I am telling you this as a guy on a forum, NOT an Aruba Employee.

Thank you cjoseph.  I was finally able to get the controller upgraded, it ended up being a multistep upgrade as was referenced in many other threads, but your post pushed me in the right direction. :-)
