Hi - My customer wants to use a 7200 controller, but has only 1G local switching capability.

Can I form a multi-port LAG to the controller by LACP combining the two 1G ports with some 10G SFP+ slots, which have 1G SFPs installed?  (the latter bit, on its own, is documented in the hw install guide:   "The ports support dual speed (1GbE or 10GbE) operation.")

Assuming this is supported, I take it there would be no problem mixing 1000Base-T and (say) 1000Base-SX in the same LAG...?

Should work without issue. You may want to hard set the speed on the SFP+ ports.

    Thanks,

    Numpty Dumpty,

Its rare for me to correct Cappalli but in this case he is mistaken. You can form a port-channel/LAG using the two SFP ports OR the four SFP/SFP+ ports but not accross these two interface types.

    Best regards,
