7210 Controller Aruba OS 8.4.0.0 persistent default admin password

    Dear All;

     

    After a fresh install of a 7210 wireless controller ( OS 8.4.0.0 ) , we changed the admin default password using command mgmt-user root admin.

    but after reconnecting either password may be used ( both new and default passwords grant access).

    What's missed to block access with the default password.

    Is this a MM-MD setup or a standalone 7210?

    This is a standalone config with a backup controller

    Sorry for the false alert .. 

    The controller is connected to a Cisco ACS and the issue was caused by an admin account on it.
