    Hi Guys,

I have an 6000-M3 controller with 6.3.1.3 that once in a while rebooting - with no reason seen to the eye (no crash file is being created) :smileyfrustrated:

(I notice this issue also with 6.2.1.5 amd 6.3.1.2 - on the same controller)

    Anyone else notice this issue?

Today output - after it came back contain:

    Feb 19 15:27:31 <fpapps 315382> <CRIT> |fpapps| Reboot Cause: Kernel Panic.

    Feb 19 15:28:04 <nanny 399816> <ERRS> |nanny| Received the PAPI_APP_SPAWN_PROC Message
Feb 19 15:28:19 <cfgm 399803> <ERRS> |cfgm| An internal system error has occurred at file ncfg_profmgr.c function ncfg_profmgr_setup_prof_socket line 532 error Unable to bind socket(/var/profmgr/cfgm): No such file or directory.

    Feb 19 15:28:36 <stm 304001>  <ERRS> |stm|  Unexpected stm (Station management) runtime error at data_path_handler, 962, data_path_handler: recv - Network is down

Few Days output - after it came back contain:

    Feb 12 16:11:04 <fpapps 315382> <CRIT> |fpapps| Reboot Cause: User pushed reset.
    Feb 12 16:11:36 <nanny 399816> <ERRS> |nanny| Received the PAPI_APP_SPAWN_PROC Message

Try running this command to see if one of the process restarted :

    (HOME_MASTER_CONTROLLER) #show process monitor statistics

    Process Monitoring Action:Log Message

    Process Monitor Statistics
    --------------------------
Name State Restarts Allowed Restarts Timeout Value Timeout Chances Time Started

"show version" should tell you why it thinks it rebooted.  A controller rebooting is not a normal occurrence and a case should be opened with TAC to determine if it is a hardware or software issue.  The messages you posted are normal for when a controller is booting up and services start before the network is available.  They do not point to anything in particular.  Start with the "show version" to determine why it rebooted.

Realistically, a case should have been opened when it was rebooting before....

    Hi Guys,

    Good evening,

    The controller rebooted agian now.

it just came up,and i ran the two commands:

    show version
    show process monitor statistics

    here is the outputs:

    show version:

    Capture1.PNG

The controller is located in a closed room - nobody entering to that room - it locked room. so the Reboot Cause seems not real.

    show process monitor statistics:

    Capture2.PNG

I dont think this command is now relevnat - because the controller just boot up after a unwanted reboot agian.

(I think this command is a command i should run once in a hile to catch the problemtaic service)

    Any other advise guys?

Thanks for the assitance so far.

    Me.

One our our 6000 controllers is doing the same thing - the cause is that the fpapps process died.  I'm waiting on my callback from TAC now.

I know there were some issues early on with 6.3.x where an M3 controller would reboot (it was in the release notes, however they're typically a ltitle vague in which situation it will happen). You might try to upgrade to 6.3.1.8 if possible and see if it might just be a bug that was resolved in a newer code release.
