AOS8.2 7210 standalone with high memory usage all times.

    my controller is 7210 AOS8.2  AP305 : 25 APs  and 80 clients

     

    total memory 5.3G

    availiable 102MB

     

    Is it normally with high memory usage or how can I reduce it?

    What is the exact version/build of AOS 8.2 that you are running?

    There were multiple patches release since the initial 8.2.0.0 release back in 2017.

     

    I would recommend opening a TAC case to analyze this. Make sure to follow the guidelines listed in this doc and send in the tech-support logs right away: https://support.arubanetworks.com/Portals/0/uploads/614/Aruba_Networks_TAC_Case_Guideline.pdf

     

    That being said there is a commands on the CLI that displays detailed memory utilization:

     

    show memory debug verbose

    Among other processes, your fw_visibility process is consuming some amount of memory:

    Are you doing any excessive DPI with your controller?

     

    As mentioned TAC should be your No. 1 go-to resource to identify the root cause of this. Otherwise, you would be only guessing why this happens.

     

    Independently from that, 8.2.2.1 has recently earned the Conservative Release (CR) tag and therefore I recommend looking at upgrading your controller to this release: https://www.arubanetworks.com/support-services/end-of-life/arubaos-software-release/

    At firewall menu, I checkbox to enable firewall visibility and deep packet inspection other setting is default.
     
    From you are recommend 8.2.2.1, If I bring upgrade to  8.3.0.3 66538 can let do it?

    8.2.2.1 is the safest upgrade path to fix your issue.

     

    8.3.0.4 will be out soon and that would probably be more recommended than 8.3.0.3.

    Now i upgrade to 8.2.2.1 high memory is solved.

     

    Memory (Kb): total: 5184256, used: 1387456, free: 3796800
