    Hello everyone,

I have an Access Point that has the Flag Inactive after our swith (Procurve 2920) accidentaly rebooted.

There are 2 other AP's connected to the switch that are fine.

The inactive AP takes 25.5W power, like the rest of the AP's, yet this one is inactive.

In the error log I can see the following message:

    [    5.267783] ad7418 1-0048: cannot read configuration register

Another remark: when i do the show ap debug counters ap-name command, the AP only has 1 config sent and 1 config Acked.

Any ideas what might cause this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi!

Verify that the switchport configuration is still what you want it to be after the reboot of the switch. Have you tried shutting off PoE on the port and turning it back on again?

Try this command to see if it gives you any clues:

    show ap debug system-status ap-name <ap-name>

    Cheers,

    Hello,

We resolved the problem by changing the AP group to Default and then back to our production profile.

The port configuration did not change after the switch reboot.

    Thanks for the tips though!

Hi - I am glad that the AP is back up and running, but you should not have to switch AP-Group for the AP to work.  Which version of AOS are you running?

I just experienced the same issue. I'm also running on AOS 6.4.3.7

We had a Plant wide power shutdown last weekend for maintenance and we just realized some of our AP-275 were in inactive state since the network is back.

On some switch with many AP-275 sometime just one is in that state.

We are on Cisco 3750X 15.0(2)SE6

Some shut/no shut on the port seem to fix it but that is strange and unusual.

there is some weird date in the AP logs though :

    Reboot Information
    ------------------
    (none found)
    ------------

    Rebootstrap Information
    -----------------------
    Date Time Reason (Latest 10)
    --------------------------------------
    1969-12-31 16:01:33 New connection, Changing to LMS (10.75.47.11) [cur_lms_index: 0, event: REDUN_EVENT_TUNNEL_UP, cur_state: REDUN_STATE_TUNNEL_MASTER, function: redun_tunnel_up(5301)]
2017-08-18 18:18:00 PoE power status changed, resetting config

    Update

the shut/no shut on switch port did not fix all of them.

the workaround that fix this instead of reprovisionning is to go to local controller under maintenance tab and reboot the AP.
