AP-305 for a home network?

Hi, I've previously used iap-205 access points for a home network - great kit.

I've just picked a couple of used AP-305 units.    Is there any way to use these in a home environment at a sensible cost or would I need to buy a physical controller and licences at substantial costs?  In which case I'll stick with the 205's or go ubiquiti.

I've seen mention of running controller software in a VM?

Or is it the case that that old AP as opposed to IAP units are basically landfill once they're upgraded out of a corporate environment?

    thanks

For a lab setup, you can install a Virtual Mobility Master, and a Virtual Controller using evaluation licenes from the LMS portal.

This will work, and give you exposure to the MM and VC roadmap.

There is also the new process for converting AP's to IAP's.

You need at least a VC to be able to convert the AP.

Please read the cautions and caveats and understand that this is only for lab environments.

That is brilliant - thank you very much.
