Hi,

I have situation where my all the controller including, Guest, Cetnralised software and all other branches some are stand alone and some are master controller from dc, running software 6.4.4.16.

I have a situation where a one of the branch controller which is running Aruba os 6.4.4.16, is working fine with AP 105 and now the new AP has been order to replace AP 105. New AP model is 315 and 325 mix. I have quick read on specification and minimum software requirement for this model is 6.5.0.0

As you have already read, entire infra is on 6.4.4.16 I have couple of questions,

- What would happen if I will change only this site to 6.5. or later version.

- Does Guest and Centralised software controller running 6.4.4.16 will have any impact on connectivity?

- Is there any patch which I can run on my 7210 controller which will allow me to provision 315 and 325 temporary while I make a propar suggestion to business and upgrade everything. 

Please help me out with this one.

Centralized Licensing is not guaranteed to work between Major changes in ArubaOS code, but it might.

If you have a single branch controller that you have to upgrade, you might want to consider backing up that controller's configuration, making that branch controller a master and installing its own licenses on that controller so that you are free to upgrade it at will.

How about WRD patch for 3400 and 7210 series. I have read that if we use that patch it can support older models.Is that true? what is the impact?

Sorry I meant DRT.. there is aruba DRT 1.0_63044. It is dat file can be copied to flash and run the command "ap reg activate <filename>" 

will this work ?

If an access point is supported in 6.4.1.0 and newer the DRT file should work.

ah ok so that is the issue.. AP 315 dose not suppor the 6.4.. 

which is the stable/ recommended release to upgrade in 6.5. in order to get 315 up and running?

You should run the latest 6.5.x
