As a beginner i tried to setup my network after i watched some youtube tutorials. Today i was able to obtain my licenses from asp portal and i installed on my 7220 controller 10x full ap licenses (ap, pef, rf).Right after that i tried to connect my access points to my controller but with no success. Controller and the access points are on the same network (layer 2).

    • I have a router that have DHCP server on, after this router i have a non-managed switch L2, so all connected clients with dhcp client will have internet from the router
    • AP-375 is getting ip 192.168.100.106 from dhcp server (router and gateway)
    • I had set static IP on controller 192.168.100.210
    • If i ping AP (192.168.100.106) from the controller (192.168.100.210) on the maintenance tab the result are 5/5 succees, so they can see each other.
    • I have enabled "Enable auto cert provisioning" on the controller.
    • Controller OS: 8.1.0.4
    • AP OS: 8.3.0.13

Still not figure out how to connect the AP to the controller.

On AP webif i found a tab "convert" where i can choose between standalone, Campus ... and Remote controlled. Tried campus and remote with the controller IP but i after some seconds i have an error "Image verfy failed ...".

Can someone help me to connect those APs to my controller please ?

    SSH onto the controller.

Type "show log system 50" to see if you see anything.

Start by upgrading your controller to 8.5.0.10 or 8.6.0.5

    Than start with cpsec auto-cert

On your ap go to convert and convert it to campus ap.

Be sure to add ( just in case ) your ap mac to campus ap whitelist in your controller.

Check pings from controller cli to ap IP

    Check show log security 50

    Check show log errorlog 50

    Check show log system 50

Share it with us. The more info the more help we will be able to provide.

show ap database-summery will be helpful also.

The controller needs to be on a minimum of 8.3.0.0 and above, according to the AP-375 datasheet:
