    Hello experts,

We have got for some reason an AP stuck in minimum TX power and user complain about low signal.

We don't want to change TX power in the ARM config in orter to avoid interference for AP in other places.

After rebooting the AP, the arm config is still the same.

Is there any way/command that can reload arm for a specific AP or AP-group ?

    Regards

What version of ArubaOS is this?

What is the AP transmit power?

What is the radio band with the issue?

When you type "show ap arm state ap-name <name of ap>", how many other access points can you see?

Rebooting the AP will do change anything with arm.

    Hi,

    We have got  6.5.4.2 AOS

Transmit power is set to 3.

Current ARM Assignment is 116+/3.0 for 802.11a

Current ARM Assignment is 11/3.0 for 802.11g

Typing "show ap arm state ap-name <name of ap>" give me only this AP.

    Here the complete story :

We have in fact 2 AP not too far each other (approx 20-30 meters) in this zone. Each have different ARM setting (different channel for 802.11a and 802.11g) but both have TX power set to 3.

Using "show ap arm state ap-name <name of ap>" on each show only the AP on wich I'm launching the command. I Assume this is normal behavior as ARM detect Interferences and reduce the TX power on both. (confirmed by the command "show ap arm history ap-name" before rebooting ap).

According to the radio coverage's tests we made before installing the AP, we do not expect to have interferences.

Here is some complementary informations :

    Ap1 :

    802.11a channel : 116+

    802.11g channel : 11

Total interference index report on channel range 52-56 : 2

    Next Check channel/pwr :5m:33s/47s

    Ap2 :

    802.11a channel : 60+

    802.11g channel : 6

Total interference index report on channel range 116-120 : 18

    Last check channel/pwr :4m:13s/4s

typing "show ap monitor ap-list ap-name" on AP 1 :

I see 4 essid interfering on channel 6

    AP1 see AP2's bssid on 802.11g

typing "show ap monitor ap-list ap-name" on AP 2 :

I see 3 essid interfering on channel 6 (not the same seen by AP 1)

    AP2 see AP1's bssid on 802.11g and 802.11n ...

The only solution I have at the moment is to set the RF setting manually for these AP, wich I want to avoid as it is hard to manage.

    Regards

What is the ARM maximum transmit power?  That would indicate your ceiling.  You would change the ARM minimum transmit power if you want the power to be higher.

Please see more on how ARM works here:  https://community.arubanetworks.com/aruba/attachments/aruba/unified-wired-wireless-access/7592/1/ARM%20Doc%20Supplement.pdf

    Please excuse me

As advised I look on my arm profil and ARM maximum transmit power was set to 3 ...

Strange thing, it seem that not ervery AP change their arm setting (not all AP had TX power set to 3)

    Anyway everything is resolved now.

    Thanks a lot
