About licenses and testing between testing controllers

    Is it available to use a license from a controller 3600 to test a lab environment and import the license to the same model controller in lab?

    Current OS: version 3.4.0.7

    Controllers: Production 3600 / Testing: 3600

    License file already exported to a tftp

    Licenses should only be transferred due to RMA'd hardware AFAIK.

    Im able to import the licenses, but when I reboot the controller the licenses are not there, is this the reasson that I cant see the licenses after rebooting? That needs to be resent by aruba support ? I dont understadn the process.

    Licenses are tied to the serial number of the controller.  If you export them, you can only re-import them into the same controller.

     

    If the hardware dies, you can transfer the licenses to your replacement hardware.

    Ok , understood. So for this I will need to ask for demo licenses right? Are those licenses can be automatic downloaded or generated in the support page?

    TAC or your local account team should be able to get you eval/demo licenses.
