    Hello,

i have two 7210 controller in modus HA (Master, Master) with Aruba OS 6.4.3.4, and a couple of AP connected over Layer 3. The Problem ist, when the connection between AP and the LMS controller ist interrupted for a couple of second, the AP do not make a reboot (after "Bootstrap threshold"), rather somtimes a couple of hours. The state from the AP in this moment is "Down", but from the controller i can "ping" the IP Address from the AP. It look like der AP active ist, but vor the contrller is down.

Any help or suggestion will be appreciated.

Have you changed the bootstrap threshold?

    Hi cjoseph,

no, not jet, but i have the same problem with more AP. Some AP are active again (alone) after one hour, some AP after two, and some after four or more time. For all AP the "bootstrap threshold" is the same value "8".

Hier, the result from the command from the LMS primary (10.250.123.31) controller:

(wlanc-01) #show ap database status down

    AP Database
    -----------
Name Group AP Type IP Address Status Flags Switch IP Standby IP
    ---- ----- ------- ---------- ------ ----- --------- ----------
    AP10-4 kvn_cap-hil 205 10.10.10.20 Down 2 10.250.123.31 0.0.0.0
    AP10-5 kvn_cap-hil 205 10.10.10.11 Down 2 10.250.123.31 0.0.0.0
    AP10-6 kvn_cap-hil 205 10.10.10.26 Down 2 10.250.123.31 0.0.0.0

and hier, the same command from the LMS Backup (10.250.123.32) controller:

(wlanc-02) #show ap database status down

    AP Database
    -----------
Name Group AP Type IP Address Status Flags Switch IP Standby IP
    ---- ----- ------- ---------- ------ ----- --------- ----------
    AP10-4 kvn_cap-hil 205 10.10.10.20 Down 2 10.250.123.32 0.0.0.0
    AP10-5 kvn_cap-hil 205 10.10.10.11 Down 2 10.250.123.32 0.0.0.0
    AP10-6 kvn_cap-hil 205 10.10.10.26 Down 2 10.250.123.32 0.0.0.0

It's OK, when the "switch IP" for a AP ist nicht the same at both controller?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

we have update at monday the controller OS to v6.5 from v6.4.3.4, and after the update we have no more problem, with the same value for the bootstrap threshold.

It's look like (probably) a bug in the Aruba OS v.6.4.3.4, but i can't confirm my theses.

    Thanks.
