"AirGroup solution supports both wired and wireless devices. Wired devices which support the Bonjour services are made part of the AirGroup when the VLANs of the devices are terminated on the Virtual Controller" from here.

It's not possible for me to trunk the wired networks back to the controller in our current configuration. My question is, would it be possible to purchase a lower end controller and put it in a place where the wired networks could be trunked and in turn hang the controller off the master and have airgroup then be able to see the wired and wireless networks?

    Thanks,

You can create GRE tunnels between your edge switches and the controllers and redirect mDNS and SSDP traffic to the tunnel.
