Hello i have over 400 AP configured in a Alcatel controller ( AP-105) working fine, with full speed, i just install 8 AP-325 in a switch Alcatel switch POE + 6250- P24 registered in the same controller with the same profile . But APs are not workingat full speed.Anyone knows what can be happen? maybe poe+? LLDP? This  AP or Switch need extra configuration? Thanks!

What exactly isn't working at full speed? If you run the below command and look at the tech-support, it will show the negotiated POE power. Is LLDP configured on the AP switch ports as well?

    show ap tech-support ap-name XXXX

The AP105 are 11n and the AP-325 are 11ac, have you made the necessary adjustments in the radio profiles as well to enable the full use of 11ac?

hello 325 APs are working with 65mbps conecction in 2,4Ghz band . unable to work in 5Ghz. I think the cause could be de POE+.

Why the aPS are not using 30 Wats? only 7 -9 Wats? is this normal? The POE is negotiated LLDP via?

You are right, it is not normal.  Like the Zalion above said obtain the tech support of the AP with the problem on the commandline of the controller:

    show ap tech-support ap-name <name of ap>

     Screenshot 2017-11-18 at 05.45.46.png

Above is the output of an AP that is working.  Initially when it booted up, the "Current Hardware State" did not negotiate LLDP yet.  In the end the "Operational State" negotiated LLDP and got 20.2 watts and has POE-AT power.

Do you have LLDP enabled on that port?

Hello, how can enable LLDP on this port? The output of the tech support command displays 0.0Wats I just attached a screen shoot

Is that the correct firmware version, I believe 6.5.x is the latest ArubaOS release. Is LLDP enabled on your switch, this is the important part.

802.1 tlv needs to be enabled.  That is LLDP.

Obtain the tech support from the access point and see what the "Power Status" section says.

You should probably open a TAC case.  This could be a bug, or there could be something that we are missing.

This post is titled "Slow Wifi Speed".  What do you mean?  EDIT

    Hello

I mean that i have AP 105, AP 275 ( outdoors) over 400 registered in my controller, and works perfecly, you can do a Speedtest and work fine.

However i have 10 new 325  AP registered in the same controller with the same group and profile. And the speed test  is slowy, unable to connect in 5ghz. I am going crazy ...

Regular 802.3af power should not affect 5ghz wifi speed.  If you have 2.4ghz clients it would have an affect because 2.4ghz is limited to 1x1 operation.

If you have performance issues with 5ghz clients, it is probably something besides only having 802.3af power:

Hello the problem is solved it not related with POE+. Is a problem of legacy clients working in 802.11N.

    Thanks!

We dont know the real reason.. but client on AP 105 works fine ( legacy and new) . And over AP325 fails the legacy only . For example All test was made with only one client connected to the APs and the same profile an AP group.

If you do not have POE+ on your 325, your clients will be limited to 1x3 on the 2.4ghz band, yes.  If you are testing devices, it is possible that other devices are connected to the 2.4ghz band of that access point and consuming resources while you are testing those devices, because bandwidth on wireless is shared.  The AP-105 provides a full 2x2 connectivity on the 2.4ghz band at regular POE, so you would not experience that issue.

Hello Colin, as you can see , When i made the test, i have only One client on the AP. And with the modern Devices We can conect at full speed over 325 AP.

Total Mistery... forget it , we are working fine over 90% of the devices. And Thanks for the support!!

Don't have much to add to this discussion but wanted to share that the we found out that the AP-325's act differently thank the AP-105's, AP-205's, AP-225's, & AP-274/275. We we're having some Wi-Fi performance issues (a lot frame re-transmissions) with 6 AP-325's (only RX errors on switchports).

Our fix was to hardset the SAP MTU to 1500 (AP Groups). The performance issues on the AP-325's went away immediatly & got the speeds that we expected. Note, on our switches even though our switches are PoE+ capable we needed to enabe LLDP on the ports. https://gtacknowledge.extremenetworks.com/articles/Solution/PoE-Aruba-AP-IAP-275-negotiation

    Hi

I also do a lot of work with Alcatel-Lucent switches, and had a few problems with Aruba AP's doing LLDP correctly for full PoE+.

What i usually add to make it work is this:

lldp chassis tlv dot3  power-via-mdi enable

lldp chassis tlv med  power enable

Especially the power-via-mdi enable has solved a few problems with tricky access points.

    Hope this helps
