    Hello Airheads,

do you know f you can bundle all 6 ports on a 7210 controller into a 6 port etherchannel.

    Thereby making a 6 Gigabit etherchannel (port-channel)

    cheers

    pete

Maybe.  You can have up to 8 member ports in a port-channel, but they all must be the same speed.  So if you're running the four SFP+ ports at 10Gb, then you could only have those 4 ports in the port-channel.

    thank you for your reply.

we are planning to run all 6 ports @ the same speed yes.

So that would mean the four SFP's running @ 1 gigabit and the

two dual personality ports at 1 gigabit.

    hopefully that would be ok?

    hello JJ,

I Have managed to get a 7210 controller and tried to add the 10 gigabit

ports into a port channel that i already had added the 1 gigabit ports to and i get an error message saying "member 0/0/2 speed doesn't match Pc-1 speed".

    hello again,

i am beginning to think it's not an option to have the 2 x 1gigabit ports and the 4 x 10gigabit SFP ports in the same port channel.

Thanks for having a look though appreciate you taking the time JJ.

Hi Pete, What if you set the speed on the SFP+ ports to 1Gbps first? then try to add to the port-channel? Best, JJ

    Colin and JJ,

    What if i was to purchase 1Gigabit SFP's making it a total of 6 x SFP's

    would i then be able to have a 6 x port port-channel?

    cheers

I am not sure.  The big question is, why do you need six physical interfaces?  The back of the napkin calculation is 100 APs for each gigabit interface...
