Aruba APs' built-in beacons uses

Hi everyone,

I know Aruba APs' built-in beacons can be used for location wayfinding, for proximity notifications, or for manage remote beacons, all this related for mobile engagement services. Can these beacons be used for other purposes?

Julián

Yeah, there are many use cases, however all of them are related to location/wayfinding, proximity/campaigns or asset tracking. I mean to use the beacon for use cases other than that. For example, the new 5xx series APs have a Zigbee radio for IoT services.

Hi,

Think I found the answer I needed, new 5xx APs' Bluetooth 5 and ZigBee radios can be used for engagement (location, campaigns) and also for many IoT use cases:

However, previous 3xx APs' BLE can only be used for engagement and asset tracking, from the datasheet:

But can also be used for IoT services with the Zigbee BLE Dongle adaptor for Zigbee support:
