    Hi all,

I am working on an RFS and need to know if the Aruba controller 6000 will be able to support the following features:

    • Support storing boot-up configuration in ASCII XML format or ASCII file
    • Support auto provisioning where controller can get its configuration from management system during boot up
    • Support running  both IPv4 and IPv6 on the same WLAN
    • Supports Ethernet over IP (EoIP) between controllers for SSID/VLAN forwarding
    • Support IGMP snooping for both L2 and L3 roaming
    • Provide details regarding establishment, termination, failure and usage of SIP based calls on controller

    Regards

    A few Answers:

    • Support storing boot-up configuration in ASCII XML format or ASCII file

The running and startup config can be pulled as a plain text file

    • Support auto provisioning where controller can get its configuration from management system during boot up

Local controllers pull all their Wifi Settings from the master, but local settings need to be configured on the device (Routes, IPs, certificates)

    • Supports Ethernet over IP (EoIP) between controllers for SSID/VLAN forwarding

Aruba’s layer-3 mobility solution is based on the Mobile IP protocol standard, as described in RFC 3344, “IP Mobility Support for IPv4”. This standard addresses users who need both network connectivity and mobility within the work environment. Unlike other layer-3 mobility solutions, an Aruba mobility solution does not require that you install mobility software or perform additional configuration on wireless clients. The Aruba controllers perform all functions that enable clients to roam within the mobility domain.

    • Support IGMP snooping for both L2 and L3 roaming

Clients who want to receive multicast traffic can join a multicast group via IGMP messages. Upstream routers use IGMP message information to compute multicast routing tables and determine the outgoing interfaces for each multicast group stream

    • Provide details regarding establishment, termination, failure and usage of SIP based calls on controller

    Yes, Monitoring -> Voice

Not sure about IPv6 and IPv4 on same WLAN.
