I have AP 93 connected to controller 3200 in two ways .

    1) some AP are connected in campus mode

    2) Some Ap are connected in RAP(remote ) Mode over MPLS link

Forwarding mode = Bridge for the both cases

    Question :

When i am doing authentication with controller how much is the bandwidth  consumed by  Each AP ??

    Is it continious ?

    ?

    Please comment .

    Answer.

Very little and it only happens when the user is authenticating.

Like cjoseph said is not much, 802.1x BW requirement is between 1-5k depending on the type of EAP method you are using.

As we discuss with our Aruba partner , told that around 100kbps per Ap is required in RAP mode...

    Thanks fo your page ..

I have one more dout  suppose i have 40 user are connected to AP (Access-Point).IN RAP mode

Whenever user trying to connect the SSID all authentication & 802.1x control packet goes to controller through MPLS .

Now can you provide me the bandwidth consumed by All 40 user between Access-Point & Controller .(Only Authentication & Controlling) anyway in RAP mode your normal traffic never goes to controller.

    Waiting for your reply

    Thanks

    Sambhaji
