    HI ,DEAR.

Now there is a customer said he hope to do the LDAP server authentication.

I want to know , if  I can only do this  by Captive portal authentication in WEB page?

Can I do the LDAP authentication by the way of 802.1X ( Or say : Can I make the 802.1X authentication  via  LDAP  server?)

Just like the 802.1x over windows IAS radius.

    Thank you very much.

Most 802.1X implementations use a radius server.  However, it is also possible for LDAP.

In order to authenticate against LDAP, the following must be done:

     - controller must be configured for eap termination.

     - the eap type for the client must be configured for EAP-GTC.

    802.1X EAP-GTC

     - supplicant for macbook is built-in.

     - unfortunately, windows machine is shipped with PEAP or EAP-TLS.  Thus, in order to get EAP-GTC, you have to either load a shim or load a different supplicant.  Aruba has a shim that you can download from our support site.

what kind of shim, where to load? better results with intel-proset instead the zero-touch win7 supplicant?

    regards
