Can Mobility Master be used as a firmware server for MC firmware?

When upgrading MC firmware via MM, the cluster upgrade GUI form requests inputting a FTP/SCP/TFTP etc location for the firmware.

Can I store the MC firmware file somehow on the MM itself and point this upgrade form to the MM ?

I have a lot of disk storage space on the MM and unrestricted comms between MM and MC, so this approach would make firmware upgrades a lot easier for me in certain customer environments where obtaining access to an FTP server can be quite a chore sometimes.

    Hi vf556,

Upgrade an MD or a cluster of MD's using the MM as a file server is currently not supported. But you can raise a feature request for this here:

    https://innovate.arubanetworks.com/

For this feature, there should be a request already.

I have created a new feature request. If anyone reading this is having the same problem or would like to see this implemented  please vote on the feature request at  https://innovate.arubanetworks.com/ideas/WLAN-I-1343

@FlorianBaaske do you know if it is possible to use AirWave as an open FTP server? i.e. to have Airwave not restricted to only using FTP for it's own upgrade purposes?

never tried. But I doubt it is possible, as you do not know the ftp user and password for that ftp server.
