I'm logged into the GUI with the admin account. I am using the SSH client that's built into the webinterface because I need to clone our AP group to make some changes to certain areas.

I found this page: http://community.arubanetworks.com/t5/ArubaOS-and-Controllers/Easy-way-to-copy-AP-Group/td-p/14397 on how to do it.

So I type enable in the terminal and tried every password I have, use, and so on, but none of them will work. I'm not sure one was ever even set..

    How can I find/reset/do this?

    1. you cannot retieve the enable password but you can reset it.

    2. To do that you have to reset the admin passwrord as well.

    3. however you can use the same admin password again and put you credentials for the enable password

Thank you very much for the replies! :smileyhappy:

Now "Log in from the console."

Where exactly do they mean? The console cable on the front on the controller? (I am not the one who set this up and know fairly little about this stuff.)

Thanks Sathya. I forgot to Add the ID.

The console port is the isolated port on the front of the controller. It will be labeled as console. You would need a Console cable (Rj 45 on one end and  DB9 (male) on the other end.

You can use either hyper terminal or putty.

    Console Terminal Settings
Baud Rate      Data Bits      Parity      Stop Bits     Flow Control
    9600                  8                 None             1                 None

Ugh I know where it is and that's what I was afraid of :smileyfrustrated:, I don't have anything that will work in there.

Guess it's off to a store to find one!

Thanks for all you'll help, I'll report back!

You're not sure the "enable password" was set. Did you try "enable" ?

This will require a reboot, but you can run the controller wizard from the GUI to recover it...  It is at Configuration> Wizards> Controller Wizard.
