Hi,

I have a IG Security Officer asking me about the use of RAPs and specifically when was the last time a RAP was used.

Can you show on the Master Controller or RAP controllers the last time a RAP was used?

If it was in the last minutes , you will be able to see that on the controller.

in CLI

show log security 50 or 200 include mac address of your RAP/or AP Name  

show log all | include mac address of your RAP/or AP name

i know AirWave (if installed) was able to tell u that. (if u got AirWave installed)

Can you try this command?

show ap details advanced ap-name <name of AP>?  

To show all APs (up and down), use this command:

show ap database

Now...it won't tell you a specific date and time but will give you the offset of the current time when it last heard a message from the AP.

For something more user friendly, AIrwave can tell you last contacted status.

Tried this and found it shows the up time of active RAP/APs but not down / inactive RAPs/APs. We don't have Airwave unfortunately.

I'm out of luck then I guess?

Actually, the command will show it...like I said...it will be an offset to the current time/date

Maybe we haven't set something up right. Below is the config we have when I run the sho commands on our Master Controller.

RAP01 is down and RAP16 is up. Running the same command on the RAP Controller I get a long list of info for the RAP 16 including Reboottrap but it doesn't know about RAP01. It maybe that it hasn't been up since the last code upgrade May/June last year.
