Certificate Renewal Question

    On my secure SSID I use 802.1X authentication against a Microsoft IAS server as the RADIUS server.

     

    My certificate expires in a few weeks, and the question I have is does anyone know whether or not clients will need to re-accept the certificate from the server after I renew it?

    Yes, they will, because it is a new certificate.

    If they're domain members and certificate autoenroll is used, it should happen automatically for Windows supplicants via GPUPDATE.    For non-windows devices, and non-domain machines, expect them to be prompted....

     

    If your supplicant trusts the CA and a specific server name or names as long as they don't change, the expiration dates should be transparent.
