We recently installed Cisco Aironet 3802 APs and when they are detected by Aruba AirWave they show up as Type - Cisco Aironet 1000 LWAPP and model - AIR-AP3802I-B-K9. Additionally when placed in VisualRF they do not show any data. Is there a way to change the type in AMP to the correct model and how can we get it to show correctly on VisualRF?

The 3802 issufficiently new enough that AirWave doesn't know the 'type' so the default is Cisco 1000. In a later version of AirWave, it will properly classify it as the right type (3800). Not sure what version that will be.

So when we see Type - Cisco Aironet 1000 LWAPP does that pretty much mean they will not show any data in VisualRF? We have 2702i APs that do not show any data in VisualRF but the controller (Cisco 5520 Wireless Controller) they are on is running the newest WLC firmware, 8.2.141.0. The other 2702i's we have seem to be fine on our other controllers running older code. It is just those on the controller with the newest firmware.

     Thanks!
