We are currently running IAP 205s in our facility, version 6.4.2.0-4.1.1.0_46028 and are wanting to learn about voice traffic.

Is there a best practice for how to setup a voice network to avoid bad call quality?

We are testing using mobile phones over our WAP's using a zultys softphone mobile app and so far our test calls have been choppy.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Softphones will always have poor quality unless there is capability built into the operating system to provide QOS from the client to the wireless access point.  You can set an SSID as Voice to have all the traffic from the AP to the client be prioritized, however...

We do have a separate Voice SSID, sorry i should've mentioned that. I was more wondering if there are settings within that voice SSID we can tweak to help.

If you have it set to the type "voice", all traffic from the infrastructure to the client should be prioritized.  You would still have to contact the softphone app maker to find out if the wifi traffic from the client to the access point has QOS applied.
