Default and recommended logging enabled on ARuba controller?

    Hi,

What are the default logging that are enabled on the ARuba controller?

I am running on 6.5.0.2. As part of several troubleshooting I had few of them enabled over the course of time, and not able to conclude whether these are enabled by default or had been done manually.

    (WLC_0001) #show running-config | include logging
    Building Configuration...
    voice logging
logging level debugging network process dhcpd
logging level debugging network process dhcpd subcat dhcp
logging level debugging network subcat dhcp
logging level warnings security subcat ids
logging level warnings security subcat ids-ap

Can someone please confirm whether there any any logging that are enabled by default on the controller?

Is there any recommendation to have certain logging enabled throughout on the controller for ease of troubleshooting without compromising the CPU on the Controller?

The best is warnings on the top level.  Warnings provide the best top-level logging.  You can enable more if you want to dive deeper into something:  http://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_65x_WebHelp/Web_Help_Index.htm#ArubaFrameStyles/1CommandList/logging_level.htm

You can also reset everything to warnings by typing:

    Aruba7640-US) (config) #no logging level
(Aruba7640-US) (config) #show logging level verbose

    LOGGING LEVELS
    --------------
    Facility Level Sub Category Process
    -------- ----- ------------ -------
    arm warnings N/A N/A
    network warnings N/A N/A
    security warnings N/A N/A
    system warnings N/A N/A
    user warnings N/A N/A
    wireless warnings N/A N/A

Just an FYI, I had a similar number of debug logs running on my controller at one point and it started causing issues on the controller. I wouldn't run any debug logs for a extended amount of time, especially several of them at once.
