My rap's IAP93 don't connect anymore to the W620 after I upgraded to 6.4. I went from 6.1 to 6.4 because captive portal redirecting didn't work anymore and cjoseph posted that this was a bug that he wanted feedback for. I thought  "6.4 is de latest release, no bug hunting for me then." Now 7 of my 12 AP's are down.

 

Anyway, installing 6.1 on flash fails due to insufficient storage/mem.

Both partitions contains either 6.3 and 6.4. I want to downgrade to 6.1.

I've read all the advice on deleting files. Even using the CLI, the W620 complains, see below.

I'm now looking at the cpboot> strategy and formatting the partition 1, a procedure we found for 7220 controller and contemplate as a last resort.

Does your controller is an FIPS controller?

Not sure really.

De RAP's are configured for split tunnelling and I have a firewall licence. If an Android phone in a remote site wants to print in that site, the AP NAT's the packets there to prevent data travelling back and forth in the tunnel.

 

We have an MPLS network but I've configured the AP's in the remote site as RAP's.

The distinction between cap and rap for me is blurred, I can only explain it as a business mechanism effect (in an MPLS network )

You should upgrade the controller through FTP Or SCP from CLI. If are you in windows dont use TFTP.

He isnt doing it via local file...he worte that he is trying to do it via TFTP (cli)

Did u notice u uploading a FIPS aos?

You should try to use a none FIPS os if your controller isnt FIPS controller

Fips or none-fips versions yield the same error

We're running on 6.3 fips version right now, with a couple AP's up.

 

Does that confirm our W620 is an FIPS W620 ?

 

As per my knowledge dell W620 is a FIPS/TAA certified product,

but i am not a sales guy so may be i am wrong.

 

BTW you can try with FTP also..

To OP, open a TAC case and they cna work on getting the files deleted. It's sometimes an issue with the 600 controllers as their flash was not very large. Support can get it cleaned up.

i didn't notice that one. Could you check your controller supported OS version [FIPS / Regular] as per kdisc98 post

I had this issue before I think we boot partition one we did write erase. to get ride of residual files. loaded the OS on via CLI and repeated on the other partition. At the end of the process we attempted to delete excess files to increase space what we notice is when we deleted the file from the CL I the space did not increase on the controller but both OS were loaded.

 

We are up and running with 6.3.

All of a sudden a number of AP's reconnected, a few we had to purge /setenv master or even do factory_reset. We were also tripped by a number of iAP who had reactivated their webserver.

 

We have 6.4 on partition 1 and 6.3 on partition and still too little space to load other images, but we're up.

 

Dell support gave us this link -  appearently you can boot a W620 from a tftp server - but we didn't have to go that route.
