i was wondering if an 225-rw would work on a 3400-US controller.

does anyone know the answer to this?

No, it won´t work. You will get Regulatory errors.

You have to have US Version.

    Restriction by FCC Regulatory Domain.

Actually, with recent code (6.5.2 and 8.2 or later) the regulatory "flavor" of the AP is ingnored when it's deployed with a controller.

So, using an IAP-225-RW with a -US controller will work and apply the US specific restrictions.

Please note that you are not allowed to have a -US access point outside the US or have a -RW access point inside the US. This is because the access point can work without a controller and should be locked to the specific regulatory domain. So it will work in recent ArubaOS versions, and when connected to a controller there is no effective difference between the APs, but you might be violating regulations.
