Hi,

Would anyone please confirm that is there is anything in Aruba controller that restricts from uploading evaluation licenses multiple times? If yes then please specify the timeframe.

Actually we are using evaluation licenses (already expired 2 times) for one of our customer during PoC and looks like it will take another couple of months before we come out of PoC stage as the project is of both high value and critical in nature.

i believe you can active trial 3 times before you have to scrap the config and start over.

also a PoC going on beyond three months might not really be a PoC anymore, but that is easy to say at this stage without the details. we atleast try to limit PoC in time.

I have gone through the thread you provided but it left me little confused.

I think they are talking about the same license key (Evaluation) using 3 times on the same controller, isn't it?

I want to know that if i use 4 different evaluation licenses keys (one after another), say LIC-2048-AP, in the span of 4 months then will the system let me do that without having to "write erase all" or trashing the config file?

 If the above statement (in bold) is true then what would be the temporary solution to continue using the evaluation licenses for the 4th month? Dumping the config file and re-uploaded the same will do?

Any suggestion please.

You can try to use a "different" evaluation key, but if you look, it always generates the same key, unfortunately.  The only way is to start over.  There is a reason why it is limited and boneyard is right.  Please see your Aruba sales person/engineer to see if there are any more options.

But when i try to generate either certificate key or the corresponding activation key (for say LIC-2048-AP), it never comes out to be same no matter how many times i generate it for the same controller. interesting isn't it?

It makes sense to limit the evaluation key usability for the rightful purpose.
