    Hi

We have two 3400 controllers and we are using external captive portal (SSO) solution to authenticate users.

My question is related to user sessions. When a user is authenticated his/her session is created on the respective controller from where the request has come. We are doing this through XML.

When a user moves on to an AP with controller B, they have to go through authentication again as session user session doesn't exist in controller B. Is there any way for example gre tunneling that this scenario can be a one single layer where user once authenticated on Controller A remains authenticated or his session is considered active/authenticated as he moves to controller B?

Unfortunately there is no way to transfer session information from one to another. If you were to somehow populate an authentication server with the mac addresses of authenticated users maybe we could do Mac author at the controller level to make it more seamless.

The alternative is to group access points so that users do not roam from one controller to the other ...
