File Sharing using the hostname

    Hi All, 

     

    I need help on this. I have a IAP-325 installed, when i connect my laptops on this AP, i am unable to share files between them using hostname though i am able to share it via IP addresses. 

    this seems to be an issue just with Aruba AP, as i have couple of more APs with different vendor on which i am able to share the files using the hostname.

    The problem could be caused by multiple issues. Questions I have or things I would check:

     

    • What configuration are you using on your SSID?
    • Is it connected to a bridged VLAN or are you using L3 on the IAP and acts the IAP as DHCP server?
    • Can you resolve the hostnames when you perform a nslookup or a ping to the hostnames?
