Hi,

I'm going through some compatibility documentation for a NAC product to see if it'll work with Aruba but I'm struggling to align things when it comes to OS description.

We have:

a. Aruba Central

b. Aruba IAP-305 access points

c. Those IAP-305 access points are running firmware 8.4.0.2_70086

Does that mean we are running:

a. ArubaOS 8.4

b. Aruba InstantOS 8.4

c. Something else that I'm missing :)

Hi,

The naming convention for Aruba Instant AP 305 is like this:

ArubaInstant_Ursa_8.4.0.2_70086

You can get information on support.arubanetworks.com

The software you are running is the Aruba Instant software, version 8.4.0.2 build 70086

The file that Abdul referenced is the specific compiled file for the model AP that you have. Other model APs may use a slightly different compiled file with a slightly different name, but they would all need to run 8.4.0.2 build 70086.

Thanks both, I think some of the problem is that the NAC vendor very genericly refers to things as either "Aruba OS" or "Aruba Instant OS".

David, from what you are saying I think it sounds like the best way I can describe it will be using the "Aruba Instant OS" label, so:

Aruba Instant OS 8.4

Would you both agree that sounds right?
