Global IPv6 Enable / Disable

We have a controller pair that has IPv6 Globally enabled, which shows duplicate user-entries in the controller, and the client is not using IPv6 addressing.

The other controller pairs in production have IPv6 Globally Disabled. We would like to disable it everywhere.

What would I expect if I disable IPv6 on controller while clients have both sessions? Will clients be forced to re-auth and re-ip? They have valid IPv4 addresses.

My main concern is when we should do the change and if we can confirm clients will drop or not.

    Thanks.

Figuring a controller differentiates users by their ip addresses.

So in my 'educated' guess, it will drop anything ipv6 without impacting anything ipv4.

If your environment is critical, I would NOT just take my word for it on this though :)

    Have a look here:

    http://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_6.4.4.x_WebHelp/Web_Help_Index.htm#ArubaFrameStyles/1CommandList/ipv6_enable.htm?Highlight=ipv6%20enable

Disabling IPv6 is basically disabling the packet processing within the firewall on the controller. It should not cause users to be deauthenticated or disassociated from the wireless. Obviously, if they have IPv6 sessions active, those would be interrupted.
