Guest re-authentication

    We have an Aruba 3600 and we are using the internal captive portal for guests, which only shows the acceptible use policy with an accept button.

     

    When a user accepts the device is authenticated and we have no problem, but when the device is put in your pocket for 5 minutes and you connect to guest, it prompts for the acceptible use page again with the button.

     

    is there a way we can extend the length of time before they are forced to re-register? We want them to stay authenticated for a longer time, but don't have ClearPass or any other MDM solution.

    You can try changing the user idle timeout in the captive portal configuration. (AOS 6.3+)

    Right now it's not set, is there a default it uses?

    It will use the global reauthentication interval if nothing is specified.
