In the CLI on a ArubaOS (MODEL: Aruba7220-US), Version 6.5.3.3 controller and I use the command: #show ap association. In the bottom of the output I notice that it shows me:

Total num of single-band only clients:8

How do I find out which 8 clients those are?

Also, are there any tools that help with this in Airwave?

    Thanks!!

    Rob

This gets me close but l'm not sure how to interpret the result. For example I receive:

    Num Clients:913
Total num of dual-band capable clients:846
Total num of dual-band capable clients in 2.4G band:62
Total num of dual-band capable clients in 5G band:784
Total num of single-band only clients:6

#show ap association | exclude B gives me the following output:

23 clients are listed that are authenticated (auth: y) but not associated (assoc: n). Then there is a single client that is authenticated and associated and shows all the SSID information, phy, assoc. time, etc.

The "Num Clients" = 913. But then I do "total of dual-band capable" + "single band only" = 852.

    A few questions about this:

-Why the discrepancy in the amount of clients compared to dualband/singleband?

-Why does it mean that I have 23 clients that are authenticated but not associated?

-Also, the command you provided shows one client that is not capable of Band Steering, but the summary says there should be 6 single band only clients.

You should go to Dashboard> Clients to see the total and the breakdown.

it's meant to match up, here is an example

    Num Clients:127
Total num of 5G capable clients:126
Total num of 5G capable clients in 2.4G band:22
Total num of 5G capable clients in 5G band:104
Total num of 2.4G only clients:1

a clue should be able to be found in the combined output of these:

    no paging
    show ap association
    show user-table
    show ap ess
    show ap arm client-match summary

if you DM it to me I can have a look, else, raise a tac case if you're on a recent software version
