How do I enable hostnames in beacon frames?

    When doing site surveys, it would be helpful to enable hostnames in AP beacon frames. We have different customers, one running Instant and another using AOS6. I am missing how to enable on both platforms.

    You can only expose the access post names  in the SSID profile in AOS 6 using the Advertise AP Name Parameter:  https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_64x_WebHelp/Web_Help_Index.htm#ArubaFrameStyles/VirtualAPs/SSID_Profiles.htm. 

    You would then need Ekahau site survey or one of the Airmagnet Products like Survey to observe the name of the AP typically.

     

    This feature is not available on Instant.

     

    Alternatively, you can install the Aruba Utilities app from the Google Play store and configure an Aruba controller or Airwave server, and your phone or tablet will automatically display the names of access points.
