    hi 

    i have just bought a aruba 3600 controller and 3 AP204.(of ebay)

    how do i get these set up?

    its for home use only as we have wireless drop out zones due to having thick walls and a loft.

    the company i bought the 3600 has told me they have done a reset and the AP204 are brand new.

    Do you have the licenses included as well? Else you will be facing issues with configuration. LIC AP bare minimally.

     

    Off hand if am not wrong the AP model you have acquired will need external antennas as well.

    License I was told it will be embedded in the firmware that’s why I bought it. The Ap204 have antennas with them.

    So is it basically useless without a license?

    Will the ap204 work with other networks controllers or standalone ?
    How much is a license for home use ?

    Would I or should I have not bought this for home use.

    They might have installed some licenses inside.

    I did check for licenses but it was blank.

    What would the cost be to buy a license for home use.

    Or

    Can I use the ap204 on 3rd party controllers like the TP link as they don’t need licenses.

    Without license, APs are still showing up with the flag L unlicense and AP will not transmit.  No such thing as "home use" license, at minimum you need three- AP license (not sure if they sell 3-AP license, but I know they do sell one-AP license)

    You can request trial license from Aruba SE, or I believe from HPE My Network Portal if you have an account.

    After license your controller, you can try to use configuration wizard to setup simple PSK wireless network.
