    Aruba conroller 620 , OS version 6.1.2.7

     

    Can I add  a name replace IP or Mac Address??

    Oh_hab,

    Do you mean in the user table? The only way you can do that is if you authenticate against active directory or ldap

    Unless your speaking of provisioning an AP?

     

    That's under the configuration section, then AP Installation.

     

    You should be able to change the Name of the AP, and assign it a static IP if you want.

    You can use netdestination to map names to an IP addres 

     

    (Aruba651) (config) #netdestination ?
    STRING Name of destination host or subnet

    (Aruba651) (config) #netdestination server
    (Aruba651) (config-dest) #host 1.1.1.1

    (Aruba651) (config-dest) #exit

    (Aruba651) (config) #show netdestination server

    server
    ------
    Position Type IP addr Mask-Len/Range
    -------- ---- ------- --------------
    1 host 1.1.1.1 32

     

    You can use this name in an ACL instead of the IP address 

     

    For example: 

    user alias "server" any permit
