    Dear All,

Suppose, there are two AP's, each is installed in a separate room and both of them broadcasting the single SSID .

For sometime user stays at one room and after sometime it moves to the second room. when the user is in room 1 and during its connection the BW contract would be the 2mb. When it comes to the second room the BW contract would be the 5mb.

How BW contracts would be the different when user change its location and remain connected to the single SSID ?

You could return a different user role with a different bandwidth limit for
    different APs

But there is only a one user which is switching its place, but the SSID is the same. With the same SSID how BW contract condition are different when it moves from AP 1 which is in room 1 to AP2 which is in room 2.

IS there is anyway that we can bind each role with each specific AP ?

Keep in mind, The captive portal has been implemented with internaldb as server for this scenario :-)

     Very easy.

Build a user devertion rules role to this user based on LocationA | LocationB

Build & Assigen role with BE contract to each location u want - and walla :)

*Dont forget to add the User Rules list u build to the AAA profile of the AP-Group*

    Enjoy.

    Thanks Asa,

My question is; once the user is authenticated and got a role called location-A-role. now when same user move from location A to location B. would it user role be change to new role called location-B-role? because as per user guide the user-derivation rules are executed before the client is authenticated. Since client is moving from one AP to another AP, I beleive it  wouldn't authenticated again so user rule wouldn't be execute again and user role would not change. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    Hi Syed,

User moving between access points will not change the user-role; you will stay with the same user-role itself as the user session is maintained.

UDR(User-derivation rule) is tied to the AAA profile.

    1.Under Ap-group

    2.Virtual Profile

            a.SSID-Profile

            b.AAA-Profile

                  ---User-derivation rule configured.

    Thx.
