We're configuring captive portal for guests.

We use wildcard certificate, then the portal redirect to a welcome page named https://captiveportal-login.mysite.com/upload/custom/c-portal/welcome.

But our DNS doesn't know who is captiveportal-login.

How I configure per controller to resolve this name to the IP controller of the same network of guest clients?

What platform are you on? Controllerbased or Instant?

That name is what you configure in the captive portal profile, usually you choose something like guest.yourdomain.com and you alter that DNS record in your DNS server to point to whoever is your captive-portal server.

We use a multicontroller based platform. Aruba OS 6.1.3.7.

But, there isn't this configuration in this version. The name captiveportal-login is automatic when using wildcard certificate. I think it's not possible to change this, or is it?

And how to diferentiate the controllers on DNS?

Hi, see the attached screenshot of the configuration page for the captive portal profile on the controller.

If you´re using the internal captive portal on the controller you can just keep the default certificate for securelogin.arubanetworks.com and the default redirect will be trusted.

To change the redirect IP-address for each controller you can use this command:

    (config) #ip cp-redirect-address <IP-address of redirect destination>

    Cheers,

    zenmarcio,

Do you have the customized page uploaded into all of your controllers?  The controller should automatically intercept any DNS requests for captiveportal-login.mysite.com and redirect to the controller's "ip cp-redirect-address" that Christoffer mentioned before.

    Thank you Christoffer and Colin.

With "ip cp-redirect-address" the Welcome Page appears and the redirect inside that works fine.

Only one comment: the manual of 6.1 version says that this command is a "Config mode on master controllers", but we have to configure it at all controllers individually.
