    Hi,

Is there any command in controller that can show is there any bottleneck in controller interface? Not showing how many packets in and out, but to show whether the interface is being fully utilize.

    Thanks in advance

When you say "fully utilized" what do you mean?  How many interfaces are there?

    Hi cjoseph,

Uplink only 1 interface, with 1Gb speed. Is it all time the 1Gb interface is fully utilize or not. Is it use 1Gb or less, or more.

I would type "show interface <interface name>".  That will tell if there are any drops or errors or overruns that you need to be aware of...

    Hi cjoseph,

Ok noted on this. So this is the only command we can use?

What kind of bottleneck are you concerned about? I was thinking network.

You can also poll it with SNMP, this is a screenshot from Airwave:

    snmp.PNG

Gives you an idea on the utilization of the interface over time.

    Cheers,

    Hi Christoffer,

Ya, but customer does not have Airwave in their environment.

If they can't the budget for Airwave there are tons of free snmp based applications. Try googling it.

Crone, the main "bottleneck" is traffic from access points.  The unwritten rule is that you have a single gigabit ethernet connection for every 100 access points.

You can type "show log system all" to see if the CPU or Datapath exceed any thresholds, as well.

If you do not have one of the two problems above, you probably do not have a bottleneck.

    Hi Colin,

    Yes, network bottleneck.
