I have a question on IAP virtual controller zone function.

Currently one of my customer office have 4 SSID's and 3 IAP in different location.

SSID name = "VIP", "Employee", "Guest" and "Contractor"

 

IAP A = "VIP" and "Employee"

IAP B = "VIP", "Employee" and "Guest"

IAP C = "VIP", "Employee" and "Contractor"

 

Does the zone function in virtual controller of IAP able to mix and match the SSID and broadcast on specific IAP?

I had tried use the zone function in virtual controller but it failed to broadcast the SSID that I needed.

Here is how you can use the Zone functionality,

 

Step 1 : Create SSID and map to a Zone

EX : Emp-Zone-Bld1, Contractor-Zone-Bld1, Guest-Zone-Bld2, Emp2-Zone-Bld2

Step 2 : Right click on the IAP and slect a zone accordingly

EX : IAP 1-Zone-Bld1, IAP 2-Zone-BLD1, IAP 3-Zone-Bld2 etc..

Based on the step that provided, I need to create 2 Employee SSID for differentiate the zone, however, they need to use the same SSID mean the SSID "Employee" able to broadcast in IAP A and IAP B.

 

I know that use same zone name in multiple SSID's able to broadcast the zone SSID's in a IAP.

 

Do IAP or SSID able to put multiple zone?

Example:

SSID

Employee - Zone A, Contractor - Zone B, Guest - Zone C

 

IAP

IAP A - Zone A + Zone C, IAP B - Zone A + Zone B, IAP C - Zone A
